My Evermat is from the mid-1970s. It works just as well now as it did when it was brand new. Granted, the white color has yellowed, but it's still fully functional. A great purchase I made back in the day, and I've been using it all these years for mushrooms, fruits, and vegetables.

There are flat trays available to order from the manufacturer. They are designed for round berries, like blueberries and lingonberries, which would otherwise just roll to the edges if the tray isn't completely full. The 'arched' trays are great if what you've dried has gotten a little stuck to the mesh. You just snap the bottom of the tray, and everything comes loose. As mentioned, the mesh should be curved upwards during drying.

I just feel like sharing all my praise with YOU as well! (I've actually been promoting this dehydrator a lot, both to my friends and in various Facebook groups).
Our first Evermat dehydrator was worth every penny! It's been running strong for 30 years now!! It's the best investment I've ever made! I used to dry fruit as candy for our daughter when she was little (she’s 33 now!), and every autumn we dry bucketfuls of mushrooms in it.
I also dry herbs, rose hips, rowanberries, lingonberries, and more to ensure we get enough Vitamin C during the winter. My husband made his own dehydrated stews and dishes for our last mountain hike. He only needed to add a bit of water from the nearest stream.
I've also used the dehydrator for years to dry silver clay jewelry before firing.

But today, when I needed it, the fan was completely dead. I don't think it's worth trying to repair it, but I'm grateful for all these years. If the successor lasts half as long, I'll still be happy.
